Rebates

The Federal Government and the Provincial Government of Alberta are currently offering energy-efficient grants

Federal Programs:

EcoENERGY Retrofit – Homes

Please note that Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is no longer accepting new applications for federal grants under the ecoENERGY Retrofit program effective April 1st, 2010.

All applicants who completed their Pre-Retrofit evaluation or have registered to have their Pre-Retrofit evaluation before April 1st, 2010 have until March 31st, 2011 to perform all qualifying retrofits and have their Post-Retrofit evaluation completed. Please contact Ecofinity if you have any questions at (403) 699-9700.

Rebate application procedure:

  • Before performing any renovations, hire a Certified Energy Advisor (like Ecofinity) to perform
an energy evaluation of your home. They will give you a pre-retrofit report and an EnerGuide label
    for your home.
  • Choose your improvements and implement your Advisor’s recommended upgrades.
  • Call your Certified Energy Advisor to perform your post-retrofit evaluation, to confirm your new
rating. Make sure it’s done within 18 months of the completion of your renovations (or before
March 31, 2011, whichever comes first) or you won’t qualify for the grant.
  • Ask your Advisor to submit your grant application, then sit back and relax – your cheque will
    arrive in 90 days!

You can learn more about the ecoENERGY Retrofit program at www.ecoaction.gc.ca/homes – or simply call us today at (403) 699-9700 to book your energy evaluation.

Provincial Programs:

Retrofit Rebates

Although the Federal Rebate program has been fulfilled, their are still rebates available for insulation, heating system and hot water system upgrades from the Province of Alberta under its rebate program. Just click through on the preceding links for more information!

Only rebates pertaining to upgrades for insulation to ceiling spaces (e.g. attic), and exterior walls (e.g. basement insulation, main wall insulation, etc.) require the need for an ecoENERGY evaluation. Upgrades to heating systems and/or hot water systems do not require an ecoENERGY evaluation to be performed in order to qualify.  To apply, go to www.ClimateChangeCentral.com, click on my rebates and select the rebate that’s right for you! You can apply online, via mail or by phone.

If you are interested in applying for a rebate for your new home, Ecofinity will be with you every step of the way: from EnerGuide modelling and testing to taking care of your rebate application. Call us today at (403) 699-9700 to find out more!
